“I Am Malala: The Story of the Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban” by Malala Yousafzai, Christina Lamb, Christina Lamb, 327 pages, Published October 8th, 2013 by Little, Brown, and Company

Throughout the globe, thousands of people especially Muslims were shot dead without any reason. Being a Pakistani, Malala, made effort for a very basic right to education. “Acquiring education is a religious obligation for both men and women in Islam”. Quran teaches us to think upon the blueness of the sky, the vastness of the worlds, why the stars are twinkling and oceans are deep. But a specific sect known as the Taliban could never want to let Muslims especially girls could read and write. They may take the pens or book but how can they took the school of thoughts from which the Muslims belong. Malala was not amongst those who kept silent just being a girl. She was much dependent on her intelligence too. Being a human being she considered women from each race should compete in every field of life and work with the men equally without any type of discrimination either is gender base or racism.

Malala said: “she used to live in a place where the people make celebrations on the birth of son while hid the birth of the girls. The people of her tribe considered woman as “birth machine” and her duty is only to prepare food. But, Malala thinks on the other side of society. She openly opposed gender discrimination. She also thought girls should go to school as the boys go. When the Taliban take control of her native area, it was not possible to carry out her activities openly but she did. Taliban started destroying the schools of her area and forbade the girls to go to school. Malala’s father was a school teacher and encouraged the steps taken by her daughter. She was not more than 15 at that time. It was a day in October 2012, when she was returning from her school, Taliban attacked her school van and shot Malala in her head.

Luckily, Malala gets recovered from a serious injury and shifted to England with her family. Malala expresses her regret that she is not her country. She misses her homeland and wishes to back to her country as soon as possible. She also wished to see her friends, who were also in the van at that time, when she got injured. She never wished to take revenge on her enemies but she wished to see the day when there is peace in Pakistan. She considered the Taliban as Muslims and said why the Muslims are fighting with each other. However, the facts are quite opposite to her perceptions. Although the attack Muslim mosques and their gatherings, there is a wave of terrorism in Pakistan, and not a single day passed without a martyred or in the name of Target Killing, Honor killing, and much more. The non-availability of electricity has no link to the terrorist.

She wrote an effective story on the circumstances of Pakistan and tell the true face of Pashtuns. While reading Malala’s book, I come to know all this not only happened in Pakistan but the other parts of the Globe too like Afghanistan, India, Iran, Palestine, Kashmir, Syria, and other countries. It was a new thing for me. She added up my information. I recommended everybody read her book at least once. Especially to the one who is highly interested in women’s rights, current events, history, or inspirational stories? As a Muslim, I enthralled and confess the bravery shown by a little Malala. Her steps for striving for quality education in her country are appreciatable enough.

To know the importance of education, one should read this book once. Acquiring an education is a great blessing for those who know the worth of education. I am a lucky one who lives in a country like Pakistan where the majority of the population is Muslims. The women are independent in getting the education from their home side. Nobody from her home forced him to serve the men. Malala is really appreciatable on focusing world sight towards this dilemma.

This girl really faced the difficulty from which a sensible man cannot deny. History revealed that except few, no Pakistani politicians remained sincere with their country. The girls in an Islamic country has many horror stories. Even Malala and her father told very crying stories of politicians, neighbors, and the Taliban. Only the interested ones can read those stories and this book feels like it was truly surged, which is a genuine disgrace. Somebody this overcomes and fascinating merits a superior book. Malala Yousafzai is a colossally overcome young woman of immaculate character. Possibly, you should coordinate your incredulity somewhere else. By perusing this book, I get a yearning for regular day-to-day existence including Freedom of discourse. The freedom of religion. It is considered a risk to go to the store without a male escort. In addition, the capacity to get an instruction, paying little heed to
